WHAT DOES THIS SAY ABOUT OUR PRIORITIES?




  • In 2010 our medieval m.o. means we’re still concocting wars @ $1,000,000 per soldier, per year, in Iraq and Afghanistan. To say nothing of the additional costs of the ‘private military’ -- the likes of Blackwater/Xe -- who are paid many times more than the unformed military.
Meanwhile:
  • Education and almost all other US State budgets are forced to have drastic cuts.
  • US unemployment remains, according to some, closer to 15%.
From Mongolia to Maryland, Washington DC to Whistler BC uncharacteristic severe climate change is jeopardizing lives, livestock, government, and the Winter Olympics downhill...yet according to the skeptics, there is no climate change? Ask the residents of the Maldives, and Bangladesh.
Polar bears are canibalizing their own in the diminishing circle of the Artic 
Then, ooops, sorry, McCrystal apologizes to Karzai for the misfire in the current assault in Southern Afghanistan killing a house full of civilians. 
Then, oops, sorry, this weeks little Wall Street gem? Yesterday in the NY Times and today the headline in the UK’s Independent:
